THOMPSON RESERVE, INVERLOCH
Client: Bass Coast Shire Council
Timing: Jul 22 – Mar 23
Surface Type: Synthetic Grass
iDwala was awarded the contract to design and construct four club-only and one community-access practice wickets, featuring high-quality synthetic grass surfaces that meet Cricket Australia’s stringent guidelines. The practice wickets were enclosed with fencing and a netted roof, ensuring security and preventing balls from leaving the facility. The club lanes had retractable soft net curtains installed that enables to facility to be opened up and used for other sports.
The demand for multi-use training facilities, including cricket practice nets, is rapidly increasing due to their versatility and ability to accommodate various sports. This enclosure, designed not only as a dedicated practice space for the cricket community, also has the flexibility to be reconfigured for other sports, such as soccer warmup/training, making it a valuable asset for the entire community.
Despite challenges from wet soil, iDwala completed the $400,000 project on budget and with minimal delays. We are proud to have delivered a state-of-the-art training facility that will serve the Bass Shire, Inverloch Cricket Club, and Inverloch Stars Soccer Club for years to come.
