At Brim Recreation Reserve, the aging multipurpose courts had reached a state where urgent upgrades were needed to restore safety, functionality, and compliance. iDwala was engaged as the principal consultant to design a modern redevelopment that would transform the space into a high-quality facility for both tennis and netball.

One of the key challenges was working within the existing site footprint while ensuring that surrounding sporting assets, including the cricket nets and football goal netting, remained unaffected. iDwala carefully positioned the new facility to fit seamlessly within the available space while aligning court levels with the pavilion terrace to maintain accessibility and ease of use. The final design successfully incorporated two compliant netball courts within a three-court tennis layout, maximising the site’s potential without compromising on playability.

As an important recreational hub for the small town of Brim within Yarriambiack Shire Council, the facility needed to be accessible to all members of the community. A dedicated access path was incorporated into the design, providing a safe and convenient passage between the pavilion and the new courts, ensuring inclusivity for all users.

The completed redevelopment delivers a high-quality, compliant sporting facility that enhances opportunities for local players while strengthening Brim’s role as a key destination for community sport and recreation.
