CRANBOURNE PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL Cranbourne, Victoria
Client: Cranbourne Park Primary School
Timing: July 2024
Surface Type: Synthetic Turf
Cranbourne Park Primary School, a small yet vibrant school in the City of Casey, received Victorian School Building Authority funding to upgrade its outdoor sports and recreation amenities as part of a $1.9 million campus transformation.
Led by Content Studio Architects, the project focused on creating a more engaging, functional and inclusive outdoor environment for students. iDwala was engaged to provide specialist sports surfacing, site levels and drainage design, with responsibility for the design of a multisport oval, synthetic running track and multi-use sports court area.
Working within the existing site footprint, iDwala designed a new 145m synthetic athletics running track to fit the available area while maximising functionality for school sport, physical education and active play. The broader sports design also incorporated a futsal court, netball facilities and a basketball key with tower, expanding the range of activities available to students.
The project required careful coordination across multiple site elements, including three new playgrounds, native vegetation areas, surrounding gardens, new drainage infrastructure and level transitions between existing buildings and outdoor spaces. iDwala also designed a new driveway, tailored to align with the school’s established entry levels.
The completed redevelopment has transformed the school grounds into a vibrant, practical and inclusive outdoor learning and recreation environment. Through considered design and close collaboration with Content Studio Architects, iDwala helped deliver a cohesive school sports precinct that supports participation, movement and everyday student wellbeing.
