HONEYSUCKLE CREEK RECREATION RESERVE

The Violet Town Recreation Reserve within the beautiful Strathbogie Shire Council was home to a netball and tennis court in desperate need of an upgrade. To ensure recreation activity could continue at this venue, the multisport court needed immediate and urgent upgrading and the Strathbogie Shire Council tendered the upgrade which was awarded to iDwala.
iDwala commenced work on the newly awarded design and construction project of a new compliant multi-sport court at Violet Town Recreation Reserve in 2021. The transformation of these facilities resulted in Netball Victoria and Tennis Victoria compliant courts with new shelters and fencing to complement the multisport facility and surrounds. Moreover, a multisport facility the community could take pride in.
There were some challenges during the project the iDwala team had to navigate. The ideal timeframe for installing acrylic surfaces is during the warmer months but part of the build was scheduled over winter. Fortunately, the team were able to construct and complete the new courts with temporary line marking until the weather warmed up and was suitable to lay the new acrylic surface. This also meant the Violet Town community were able to access the facility during the winter months for netball and tennis instead of it sitting unused.
The iDwala team successfully transformed the exhausted and worn netball and tennis court into a compliant and high quality multisport facility. iDwala are proud of how great the new multisport area looks with its new court, perimeter fencing, pedestrian pathways and team shelters.
